Heavenly

Hey there! Went out with Hilda yesterday and we started planning what to do about a week ago. With our cravings for Korean BBQ, we did some research and found out about Ssiksin Korean BBQ Buffet. We made a reservation for two at 12pm yesterday and went there way ahead of time. We didn't want to risk losing our seats as it will be given to the next customer if we are late for 5 to 10 minutes.

Ssiksin.

Price list. Pretty worth it in my opinion!

Spoiled for choices.

Some non-bbq food as well!

Time to grill!

Ate a whole lot of meat and they were all very juicy and tasty. Love the variety of non-bbq food too! The overall bill came up to be $35.07: $14.90 for each person as well as some GST and service charge. Oh, and there was a long snaking queue by lunch time so definitely make a reservation beforehand!

Headed to Bugis Street for some shopping after lunch but got disappointed because nothing caught our eyes and so we changed our shopping location to Orchard afterwards. We walked about aimlessly for about 2 hours as we wanted to wait till it was evening to go to Gardens By The Bay. Again, we planned a week ago to go there. There was this rose exhibition going on at the Flower Dome and I got pretty excited because I'm a huge floral lover. <3 Alighted at Bayfront Station and walked out only to see overcast skies.

Weather forecast warned of thundery showers so I was really scared.

The walk to the Flower Dome wasn't sheltered and the both of us didn't bring our umbrellas so if it rained, that's it.

Tickets were priced at $12 for adult local residents. Entry to Flower Dome only.

Entrance.

Voila!

War of the Roses Floral Exhibit.

Roses come in many colours though a "black rose" is not actually black. It is a very deep red that appears black.

Each colour of a rose holds a different meaning or symbolises something different. Here are some of the more common ones: An orange rose represents "desire".

A pink rose represents "admiration".

A yellow rose represents "joy".

The sharp spikes on the stem of a rose bush are normally referred to as "thorns". However, these are in fact, called "prickles".

There is no naturally blue rose as blue is not found in the genetics of roses. The blue roses sold at florists are either white roses that have been dyed blue or genetically altered.

These hybrid roses are my favourite. <3

The question of whether the red or white rose existed first, remains unanswered. It was said that Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty spilled drops of blood onto a white rose, while she was separated from her mortal lover Adonis. This then turned the rose eternally red.

Wild roses are native to the Northern Hemisphere but it was in Europe and the Middle East that the love affair with rose began.

It got darker and darker and for some reason they didn't switch on the lights in the dome.

The night view of Singapore looked amazing so we left the dome and went for a night walk around the garden.

Walked to the Supertree Grove!

Not a very clear picture but I still really love it!

Breathtaking night view.

We totally forgot that we didn't had dinner and so we went back to the Mos Burger at Bugis. Went home shortly after that. To conclude, yesterday was simply amazing. There is only one word that can possibly describe the buffet BBQ, roses, and night view. Heavenly. The buffet BBQ was worth every cent of my money, the rose floral exhibit was gorgeous, and the night view simply breathtaking. If you love roses, definitely head down to Gardens By The Bay. The roses definitely looks more vibrant in real life than in pictures! Click here to find out more about the exhibit!

This has definitely been my longest post to date and I hope you enjoyed reading! Till then, au revoir.
